Very watcheable DVD of archive film of the fabled 2’ gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway from 1934, 1955, 1970, 1971, 1975 and in to the mid 1980s. Apart from the fact that the film is generally good, as is the authentic dubbed sound for most of the DVD, what makes this really interesting is that, firstly. you see the DHR before the parallel road became heavily used, so it is seen working properly, with freight trains as well as passenger. Secondly, generally, but especially at the loops, there are far fewer trees than in modern films, so you actually see a lot more uninterupted action. Highly recommended
