In part following on from his book ‘Generators and Inverters’, here Steve Chastain describes practical methods for running diesel engines on waste oil, or vegetable oils you have refined yourself. He starts by using the results in generating sets, but also describes how to adapt cars to run on the same fuel. As well as describing how to make the equipment needed, Steve also covers the not inconsiderable amount of background chemistry involved.
