Really excellent value book in both monetary and information terms, containing 126 B&W photographs, nearly all from makers, of American steam locomotives over a 111 year period. The photographs are each one to a page, but reproduced vertically, so larger, and include good details of the locomotive illustrated. The first 30 or so featured are from the 19th century, and include some wonderful oddities, as well as classic wood-burners.
