Good archive film of articulateds in particular, but also numerous rigid engines, at work challenging the Appalachains, and the Blue Ridge in particular, on the lines of the Baltimore and Ohio, the Chesapeake & Ohio, and the Norfolk and Western. Some of the filming was clearly done commercially, and there are some great scenes here of some of the world’s biggest and most powerful locomotives at work, helped considerably by ‘sync-sound’.
