This Extra features the drawings of Ray Tustin for the Ashover Light Railway, Lynton & Barnstaple Railway and the Leek & Manifold Valley Light Railway. The Association is deeply indebted to Ray for the kind loan of his original drawings from which this publication has been prepared. The Lynton & Barnstaple and Leek & Manifold drawings first appeared in The Model Railway Constructor in the 1950s. The drawings were prepared at a time when there was far less interest in narrow gauge railways than there is to-day; there was far less published information and many photographs now regarded as 'old chestnuts' had not been unearthed. Thus these drawings formed an important step in the development of our hobby and we are pleased to publish this collection both for their obvious usefulness to to-days modellers and for their historic value.
