The first 36 pages of this book cover the background to the Standard classes, and an overview of their design, followed by 8 pages of colour photographs of the three classes of Pacifics, followed by 124 pages devoted to the Britannias, the Duke of Gloucester and the Clans. There is a decent amount of technical detail, and more on performance, shed allocations etc, together with many photographs which will be very useful for the modeller in any scale. The absence of anything other than ‘weight diagram’ drawings is to be regretted, but this is still good by any standards. 171 pages. Hardbound. RCTS
