Now back in service on the Strathspey Railway, No. 828 is the only surviving, let alone working, example of one of the Caledonian Railway’s numerous 0-6-0 tender locomotives. This excellent books tells her ‘life story’, including 14 years in the original Glasgow Museum of Transport, the initial restoration her back in steam, and her more recent major overhaul. These are recounted with a reasonable mount of technical detail. Very well produced paperback of 64 A4 format pages, full of photographs, the majority in colour, and drawings.
