Just over half of this wonderful book is related to De Winton’s best known product today, their small vertical boilered quarry locomotives, the development of which is looked at in very considerable detail, with numerous detail photographs and drawings.

The first 118 pages cover the firm’s fairly short life, and its many other, and commercially more valuable products, both for the North Wales quarrying industry and marine steam engines.

This is a superbly written and produced book of 352 pages in all, with 114 colour photographs, 141 B&W photographs, 65 drawings, maps and diagrams, making it one anybody interested in narrow gauge steam locomotives should invest in. RCL Publications.
