Duxford 1940 ORIGINAL PRICE £ 14.99
£10.99

Now an aviation museum under the Imperial War Museum, in 1940 Duxford was in the front line of the Battle of Britain. This book opens with a previously unpublished 14 page memoir by Group Captain ‘Woody Woodhall’, the Station Commander during this period, followed by 100 pages, with over 190 B&W photos of life on and above Duxford, personnel - notably pilots, aircraft, prangs and the like.  Many of these photographs were unofficial, and the quality is variable, but the fascination level is very high.
