Previously titled London in the Fifties, here original archive footage shows what life, mainly in London, was like in the first half of the 1950s, when it and other cities were still dotted with blitzed buildings, rationing was a major factor in everyday life, and the King died. But there was the Festival of Britain, our Queen was crowned and things were gradually emerging from the Austerity years. No TV, mobiles were something that hung down, no computers, washing machines or central heating - the kids will never believe it!
