Highly recommended video showing how the spectacular Ferrovie Eritrée, one of the greatest mountain railways in the world, has been rebuilt after near destruction after twenty-five years of Civil War. No international help has been sought, or given, and much of the work has been done by railway workers in their 70s & 80s, including the return to steam of a number of 0-4-0+0-4-0 mallet tanks which form the backbone of the motive power fleet (they are more reliable than the diesels). Great, sometimes vertigo inducing, scenery. and a celebration of the triumph of the national and individual spirt, not to mention the steam locomotive!
