Faith, Hope and Charity ~ the defence of Malta
£7.99

When I was but an impressionable lad many years ago I read a book about the defence of Malta during World War 11, and how, in the early weeks, three Gloster Sea Gladiator biplanes (the Faith, Hope and Charity of the title) were the only fighters available to take on the might of the Regia Aeronautica, since when I have always had a soft spot for Gladiators; looking at its original publication date (1954), I rather suspect this is the same book. So, if you don’t know this epic story (or even if you do), and the part played in it by three obsolescent biplanes and six volunteer pilots, spend a modest amount and enjoy a very good and inspiring read. 184 pages. 15 B&W photos. Paperback, Crécy Publishing
