Liking or disliking railway artists work is a very personal thing but, in my opinion, Chris Ludlow is amongst the best currently painting, in the world. British, but little known in the UK as he lives in France, he won the prestigious prix Schefer in 2008.

Chris’s greatest strength is his uncanny ability to capture motion, but his paintings are also very accurate and full of life. In this A4 landscape format book are 46 full-page reproductions of his paintings, 39 of French steam, 2 of French electrics, 3 of British subjects, and one each of German and American subjects, plus 6 smaller paintings all of French subjects, bar one American.
