Enjoyable, and very informative facsimile edition of a book published by the Agricultural Gazette at the end of the First World War, when IC tractors and farm machinery were becoming available in considerable quantities. The book’s main aim was to describe the principle of tractor engineering and technology, and how to use it to best effect, with details on ploughing and belt work. A considerable number of makes, many American, and their models are described, and there is a passing reference to steam power, including a British make I personally have never come across before. Vast numbers of technical drawings, photographs of sometimes bizarre machines, and period advertising. Brilliant! 196 page, smaller format hardback.
