There are good railway books, excellent railway books and superb railway books (as well as not-so-good railway books). But just occasionally a railway book comes along so good it defies categorisation - and this is one.
The result of more than 20 years work, here are over 225 pages of highly detailed scale drawings of the Lynton & Barnstaple - and we mean the whole railway - locomotives, rolling stock, stations, bridges, viaducts, signals, level crossings, seats, nameboards, turntables and so on. Plus station layouts, 12 pages of colour detail and 47 B&W photos, all full (large) landscape page.
You could make an accurate model of the L & B from this - all you would need would be maps for the track between stations.
The quality is exceptionally high, and it is a small print run, so don’t delay - this really is worth every penny. 264 pages in all. Hardbound
