Between 1896 and 1972 an extensive network of metre gauge lines was constructed along Spain’s northern coast between Irún and El Ferrol, and south into the mountainous hinterland. The modernised systems today provide a mainline 783km in length, This album looks both at the present operations, mainly EMU or DMU, but also back to the 1950s, when Pacific or Engerth locos hauled passenger trains, and a huge variety of types hauled the freight ones. Around 130 well reproduced B&W photos, and one map. Hardbound. Middleton Press
