Video & DVD prices quoted include U.K. delivery and VAT. Delivery overseas of these items costs a flat £1.85 extra each worldwide. EEC residents must also pay the (British) VAT, but this is not charged for deliveries outside the EEC.
Books: the books we sell have a very wide range of weight to cost ratios, and costs also obviously vary according to the destination country. For this reason we are not even attempting to give an accurate price guide on this site. What we will charge you is the actual cost of the postage, plus a nominal 65p per order for the actual packing (materials and labour). For most countries we will also use special PRINTED PAPER rates, which are very cheap compared with normal parcels.
Each book price in our list has a letter in brackets after it, which is used for U.K. delivery costs, and indicates the packed weight of the book concerned, the weights being:
H = 200g G = 300g F = 400g E = 500g D = 600g C = 750g B = under 1 kg
Because each of these letters includes an allowance for packing, 5 copies of (H) coded books are going to weigh a good deal less packed together than 1 kg; conversely the code (A) just means that, packed, a book weighs over 1 kg - books thus coded can weigh up to (currently) 3.5 kgs each, although the vast majority weigh between 1 and 2 kgs. However this should enable you to make a, probably pessimistic, guess at the weight of your order.
The following chart shows the costs to send various weights to:
(1) Western Europe - essentially those countries never behind the Iron Curtain.
(2) The Rest of Europe - essentially the previously communist countries.
(3) Outside Europe
In each case the prices shown are to the most expensive countries in each area, so are the maximum you will pay for a given weight to each of the three areas. In most cases you will actually pay less.

As an indication, 5 kgs is 2-3 average (A) coded books and 10 kgs is 6 to 7 average (A) coded books.
Within the European areas all deliveries are by Air Mail. For the Rest of the World, in many cases we can offer either 'Priority' (Air Mail) delivery, or slightly cheaper 'Standard' delivery (Air Mail between countries, surface mail within them). Unless advised to use 'Priority" delivery we will use 'Standard'. We no longer despatch items by 'Surface' mail.
Because of high losses in transit, customers in SOUTH AFRICA, INDIA, PAKISTAN and the PHILIPPINES should note we now normally send orders to these countries only by insured parcel services; these are considerably more expensive, but the items do normally reach their destination. We will despatch orders to these countries using "Printed Paper Rate", but only if authorised to do so, and the customer assumes all risk of loss.
