Frankly, if a better book appears on painting a lining models, especially in ‘O’ gauge and smaller, I will be very surprised; Ian Rathbone really does take you through the whole process of getting an accurate finish to you model locomotive, carriage or wagon, and even has a chapter on Restoration. The largest section of the book covers lining methods, but there is a huge amount of detail advice here on painting, as well as a great deal of incidental detail on the various British railway liveries. Unreservedly recommended. 154 beautifully produced pages. Around 250 photos, virtually all in colour. Diagrams and drawings. Paperback. Wild Swan
