Granville Bradshaw: a flawed genius
£19.95

A remarkable picture of one of Britain's most prolific inventors. Granville Bradshaw was an engineer and inventor of extraordinary vison. His designs for early aeroplanes, and engines (The Dragonfly), pioneering motorcycles (ABC, Bradshaw oil-cooled engines, Panther ohv and Panthette), cars (ABC, Belsize-Bradshaw) brough him fame. His gambling machine  designs made him a fortune which he managed to loose as the victim of a 1930s share swindle.  His life spanned the entire development of the aviation and motor industries, from the very early days right up to the '50s. As a biography, this isn't entirely satisfactory, as it tells you very little about the man himself, but as a record of an unbelievable career it is extremely good, not least because there is a fair bit of technical meat. 282 pages, well illustrated with B&W photos and drawings. Larger format paperback. Panther Publishing.
