Not only were B & O’s steam locomotives handsome, as the P-7d Pacifics used on the Cincinnatian demonstrate in spades, the special 5 coach train oozed style. It may have composed rebuilt heavyweights, but the 1947 Cincinnatian was quite a train. Put in service between Baltimore and Cincinnati until 24th June 1950, the next day it headed off up north from Cincinnati to serve Detroit, without a change of name, which it did until 1971. Very attractive book on an attractive train. 80 profusely illustrated pages. Paperback. TLC WAS £13.80!
