This great DVD shows all 12 classes of Southern Pacific’s unique “Cab Forwards” at work between 1927 and 1956. Shot all over the SP system, but especially on Donner Pass, frequently in the winter snows, there are some really stunning shots of these giants in the 90 minutes of the main film (there is also bonus footage). Also includes good commentary on the development of the classes from Dr. Bob Church and, more generally, from photographer Stan Kistler.
