Assembled from articles, written by H.H. Manchester, that appeared in American Machinist Magazine during 1918, this is an extraordinarily interesting book. Whether looking at submarines, grenades, flame throwers, rapid-fire guns or armoured vehicles, what is really proved here is that, when it comes to weaponry, there really is nothing new, as most of the ideas originated 100s of years ago. What has improved, possibly unfortunately, is performance.120 pages, full of engravings, wood-cuts and other illustrations. Paperback. Lindsay
