LBSC’s Virgina 31⁄2” gauge 4-4-0 design was produced for his North American readers, following on from his time living in the U.S.A. As with all his designs, you can end up with a good running engine, and his ‘words’ are always worth reading, so this is a welcome reprint. That said, Virginia is something of a disaster in outline, unless the builder takes the trouble to research American 4-4-0 designs, and amend quite a lot of details on his model. 190 pages.
