Good book telling the somewhat complicated history of Scotland’s railways from a tentative start in 1817, up to the present day.

The detail concentrates on the political, commercial and social aspects of this long tale in its 116 pages, largely leaving out locomotive and rolling stock development.

Very readable, at times humorous and exceptionally interesting. Around 60 B&W photos and illustrations, 4 good maps. Paperback. And excellent value!
