Pittsburgh Trolleys in Color Vol. 1 (Last Copies)
Pittsburgh had one of the biggest trolley systems in the USA and, by the 1960s was operating the largest fleet of PCC cars in the land. Not surprisingly these cars dominate this book - in fact all bar 7 photographs include them.
This volume covers the North Side and East End on which services ended in 1966 & 67 respectively; 25 miles of the system remain in operation, but they will feature in Vol. 2
The major interest in this book lies in the surroundings, trackwork and operations, rather than the virtually identical cars, with only a few featuring non-standard liveries, which makes it very good for modellers.
128 pages and around 260 colour photographs. Hardbound.
