Second World War Secret Bunkers (SALE)
Back in print, this interesting book tells of the various underground facilities created from various quarries and mines around the UK during WW11.
Many were around the Bath area, and these are shown after they were converted to storage facilities, factories, and Ops rooms, both when in use and as they are today. It also shows bunkers much further afield, at Lanberis and Fauld - both the scenes of major explosions, Chilmark, and Manod where much of the National Gallery’s collection was stored, and the Portland Command Bunker.
Fascinating photographs, many in colour, and a good text.
215 well produced pages. Around 400 photos. Maps. Hardbound.
