The Great County Adit
A new, expanded and enlarged edition of a book we sold quite some years ago, describing an unseen, but quite remarkable item of Cornwall’s mining history.
The Great County Adit was started in 1748, and eventually reached a length of around 36 miles, taking the pumped water from a large number of mines in the Redruth and Twelveheads area to a single discharge point. It is an extraordinary story, well told in the 127 pages of this book.
Includes 36 photos, some in colour, diagrams, sections and maps. Paperback.
