The Tramways of the Potteries

Very interesting history of the various tramway concerns which operated in and around Stoke on Trent and the Potteries area in the Midlands.

The first, very early, lines opened using horse power, starting in 1862, the last, electric, routes were closed in 1928, but in the middle of this 66 year period of operation were 20 years when the power was steam, and each period is given equal significance, as is the somewhat complex history of the companies.
