A Century of British Aeroplanes in Old Photographs

£24.95

Two hundred and ninety seven generally postcard sized B&W photos of British built and generally lighter civilian aircraft, from the dawn of aviation to the 1960s from the collection of Arthur W.J.G. Ord-Hume.

The publishers of this book have referred to the author being of a 'great age', which must be right, and this shows here in a very positive way - the photographs are interesting, and the captions carry considerable detail. However the author has clearly let his sense of humour rip, as the captions are frequently amusing, especially as regards the aftermath of the numerous crashes mentioned.

If you are interested in the development of British aircraft, especially until the end of World War 11, this is a most enjoyable and infomative book.
