Tenterden's Railway - a Short History of the Kent & East Sussex Railway

£12.00

Kent is not a county I know at all well, and all I kew about the Kent & Est Sussex Railway was what I read, when it was frequently treated as something of a 'joke' railway, although this has changed since it entered preservation.

Which is what it should be, as this short history makes clear. It was the first of a small number of 'Light' (a legal definition) railways promoted and operated around the UK by Lt. Colonel H.F. Stephens, and served its home area very well for many years. Much oif it is now preserved and reatins much of the original bucoloic charm.

64 very well illustrated A4 pages, with an excellent text. Paperback.
